About this Costume
Construction Details:
*Plates*
I used grey craft foam and drew with a sharpie my best guess as to what these plates were intended to look like. I then painted them over with silver metallic fabric paint. This took several layers of paint. I used velcro to adhere them on and off the jacket/belt.

*Jacket*
This was such a difficult thing to get right! I needed everything to fall on a certain place on my body or else the plates wouldn't work lol. I made a pattern before I cut on white fabric (it was like table cloth fabric) and I gave or took a few of the those triangular pieces that the jacket has and I kept the essentials lol. I sewed the jacket and with metallic navy blue fabric paint I painted the blue details. The longer portion that drapes in the back was just white fabric with white taffeta fabric sewn together.

*Thigh Highs*
I made these thigh highs out of navy blue spandex. With white fabric paint I painted on the white stripes. This took several layers of paint.

*Dress*
The dress was mainly white and blue spandex. I used a dress I own that had the look of what I wanted. So I used that as my base, then I cut the blue spandex separately. Then added some white lace at the bottom for the hem.

*Belts*
I used light blue spandex that I cut out that fit to my waist and hips, then I outlined the silver sections with a blue pencil and painted in the details with silver metallic paint.

*Sleeves*
I actually ran out of fabric so I had to opt out and make the sleeves as seen in the anime. Which I honestly liked better because not many cosplayers did that version of the sleeves. I actually used white spandex so I could slip the entire glove on and off easily, and then I made the puffy parts with my regular white fabric since spandex does not fold folds well. I then painted the blue details with metallic navy blue fabric paint.

*Boots*
I haven't read the manga so my boots aren't super duper accurate but I did the best I could with the research I collected. I bought some cheap ankle booties and painted them white with white fabric paint. Then I painted on the blue and silver details with the metallic silver and navy blue fabric paints I had. I made two extra plates and hand sew them onto my boots, I thought they would be a cute details to add since crosses are all over SAO.

*Ears*
Were purchased from Aradani Costumes!
Personal Thoughts:
Woa!!! toughest Cosplay for me to date!!!I had such a blast with this though!!! Since I was able to complete this costume, I know that I can tackle other cosplays I've been to scared to do. lol XP
