Extra Costume Details by Shii Arisugawa

I patterned the mask first, which took 4-5 tries before I was finally happy with it, the hardest part was figuring out how to do the cut out because of the stretchy fabric. There's a 2" piece of 12 gauge jewelry wire sewn into the center front piece, so it can be adjusted to fit the bridge of the nose. The "antenna" piece is poster board, craft foam, and a button covered in Sculpey Lightweight, with a velcro backing. Luckily, I kept the patterns I used for Siyegen's Roland from Digital Devil Saga costume (still in progress, haha), and used that for the coat. I used this tutorial for the trim on the collar, to match how I did the sleeves and red detail on the front of the coat which aren't top stitched. I usually love top stitching or satin stitching detail on costumes, but I love the look of the seamless trim, so I might try to incorporate it into more costumes now!
