Extra Costume Details by Shii Arisugawa

The main piece of the costume is the vest, which took me a while to figure out, pattern-wise. I took a slim fit dress shirt, took it apart and added seam allowances, and extra on the sides. The vest consists of 4 layers: poplin top layer, twill underlining, batting, and lining. Assembling all the pieces was easy, the hard part was measuring the pocket and detail placement as it had to be even on both sides. The sides have nylon webbing, and setting the grommets took a while because there were 20 total. The logo on the back is stenciled (I guess? lol) and hand painted, as don't know how to screen print yet, and it seemed more durable and nicer looking than doing iron on transfers. The shoulder holster was purchased here, and I was lucky to find a close matching belt for $3 in LA's Fashion District! The fabric on the boots were originally olive green, so I painted over it using acrylic paint and fabric medium. The rest of the items needed for the costume were purchased through Amazon.
