About this Costume
Construction Details:
I totally bought the official pattern for the wrap and used that to make it. Firstly, I had to mod the pattern a lot to fit me since I don’t fit men’s sizing at all. Plus I made a muscle shirt underneath that for Kirk’s rugged arms and padding on the stomach/sides. I don't have to bind for this costume because the muscle shirt evened out my torso.

Anyway the pattern requires you to use wool knit as opposed to the velour of seasons 1 and 2. I happened upon the exact shade I wanted in wool knit so that’s what I used. I bought the captain’s braid off ebay and heat n’ bonded it onto the cuffs. I used some small width black canvas tape for around the collar.

Also the pattern calls for a loooooooooot of hand sewing because basically all of their costumes were hand hemmed I believe and this asymmetrical pointed hem needs an invisible hem anyway. So yeah, hand hemmed everything. I lucked out and found the proper sized gold piping in tape form so I could machine sew it in easily between the facing and outer layer instead of hand sewing on plain piping cording. Snaps hold the front closed and the heat n bonded on command patch velcros shut.

The pants I made a billion times because they kept fucking up. Made out of wool, interfaces, tiny circle skirts for the cuffs pretty much, and sprayed with glitter for that spacey effect. Though it all fell off afterwards lol. Boots are retro boots from my mom's closet that I have stolen.

Wig is a lacefront from jennyshairsense in moonbeam (? I think) and I sharpied a bit more red in there. Cut n styled it short from a medium length, also used some of the lacefront I cut off to make pointy sideburns which glue onto my face after.

Phaser was a gift from QuantumDestiny and I borrowed her tribble for pics then made a TON of tribbles out of fur I got from Anatra because this command shirt is most recognizable from the Trouble with Tribbles episode.
Personal Thoughts:
so glad I made this and got it signed by my king William Shatner.
