Construction Details:

I used suede, felt and gauze for the the tunic and cape. I altered the pattern for a simple shift dress by taking the neck line up and adding a collar, sleeves, and adding the stylized layers. I drew the lighter Celtic looking designs on trace paper, used that as a pattern to cut out, then machine/hand sew them on. The pants were pre-bought cotton leggings that were dyed and bleached to match the ones in the movie.

There were really no good reference picture available
and still aren't. Trust me, I looked.)so I had to re-watch scenes from the movie over and over again to sketch out the design. Thus I know all the dialog by heart. Good thing I REALLY like The Dark Crystal! XD

Personal Thoughts:

My best costume and one of the most Challenging to make. x_x;; I won best craftsmanship in my division for the Phoenix Comic Con masquerade in 2009, so all that hard work must have paid off.

To this day it is still my favorite costume.
