So... what seemed like a simple costume took A LOT longer than I expected, mostly because of the props.
I used a variety of real leather and suede to complete all the accents and accessories. The shirt was a cotton spandex which was waaaay nicer to work with than spandex. The collar is held up with a thick, coarse trim and the pants were a cotton jersey.
The purse bag thing was tricky due to its shape. It's like... a sash/fannypack thing? But all in all this was a lot of fun! Sky-too-high suggested the costume to me after I failed to make Katara many years ago. Korra was much more relatable and comfortable to wear! - Personal Thoughts:
- Korra marks my re-entry into the world of cosplay. I was on hiatus for 3 years while finishing my undergraduate degree. I am so thankful for what this costume has done for me in the cosplay community. Sky-too-high is a genius for suggesting this costume.
I never really liked Korra in the show, but working on her outfit and getting the chance to "be her" for a day really changed how I feel about her as a character. So all in all good things! yay Korra!
