About this Costume
Construction Details:
This is really the first good legit pleated skirt I've made, ahaha. Vikki shipped me the gray houndstooth (THANK), and I began by serging the bottom hem, ironing it up with StitchWitchery for a seamless look, and then measured pleats and ironed them in. They are topstitched along the first 5 inches or so from the waistband for stability. I bought the sweater from a thrift store, cut it apart, sewed in real buttonholes and buttons and secured the gaps between them with velcro. The sailor top was hand-drafted with topstitched yellow trim and sewn directly into the neckline. I dark-transferred the Yasogami logo to a small triangle of fabric for the neckline and was pretty much done. The glasses were found as-is, the headband and shoes were spray-painted appropriately, and I used a fan I had lying around~
Personal Thoughts:
YUKIKO AMAGI IS WEARING A KIMONO BECAUSE SHE'S FILLING IN FOR HER MOM AT THE INN THEY RUN. Okay, no, in all seriousness, it's really awesome to be back in P4 cosplay. 2010 was my big Persona obsession year, during which I cosplayed Souji (+ drag Souji), Teddie, and Naoto and then slowly drifted into other fandoms. P4 continues to be my favorite game that I've ever played, though, and when my close friends started getting into it I couldn't resist flinging myself back into the nostalgia. Thanks so much to Vikki and RT for asking me to be their Yukiko, who I don't think I ever really thought about cosplaying, but I ended up loving the time spent wearing her.
