About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I made the dress out of green crepe back satin. I made the skirt out of champagne satin. I purchased a mermaid petticoat to go underneath the champagne skirt. I made the two tails out of black satin. I tacked gold embroidery onto the center front of my gown. I had to make the gold trim entirely out of scratch from gold lame and non-fusible interfacing. I glued green rhinestones onto the gold lame trim. I had to top-stitch the gold trim before I could stitch it onto my gown. The black straps were made out of black satin and also had to be top-stitched. I glued them together to make a criss-cross pattern and then I slip-stitched them onto my gown. The pendant on the necklace and the horns were made out of Sculpey and spray painted with gold. The head piece was made out of craft foam and spray painted with gold.
- Personal Thoughts:
- My friend Rosebud wanted to start an Avengers cosplay group based on the Avengers gowns designed by Kelsey Michele on deviantart. Everyone signed up for it all at once because the designs were amazing! I was so tempted to make an Avengers gown that I signed up for Loki, and I absolutely loved the design.
