About this Costume
Construction Details:
The top is simply a cotton blend, much like a t-shirt material. The skirt is made with light pink bridal satin and lots of crinoline underneath for extra poof. I hand sewed the blue zig zag to the bottom.
The tabard is a blue twill that I painted using Tulip fabric paint. I used freezer paper as a stencil.
The "armor" pieces are all craft foam, gesso, gold paint, and mod podge. The crown, though, is made out of Wonderflex, which I discovered is pretty darn awesome.
The center of the belt (the round thingie) and white hair clips are both sculpted out of Crayola Model Magic.
Personal Thoughts:
I chose to make this costume because not only do I love every Zelda game I’ve played, but because I really adore this particular design. I could use this space to point out all the things I don't like about it and everything I wish I could change, but instead I'll just say that considering this is the first cosplay I made all on my own, I think it turned out pretty great. It's a bit of a pain to wear around, but it's definitely worth it! I'm so happy I was able to pull this off.
