About this Costume
Construction Details:
The side skirts were very easy to make. For the wing detail, I added 2 layers of paint on both sides and interestingly enough, they solidified to a very flexible shape.

The toughest part was... constructing the top. I was running out of fabric fast and sadly this fabric was no longer available at the shop where I got it (which is now closed down). I went with an idea of a tubetop then sewed the sleeves.

I couldn't get the wings to look the way I wanted it to but... at the same time I thought I did a pretty good job. :)

In the original art Rinoa poses with her own custom gunblade. Since I had no skills in woodwork and didn't want to rely on commission (due to a strict budget) I went with a cute idea of guns like Gunner Yuna in Final Fantasy X-2. And yes. They were called the Shooting Stars. :) I added foam wings and dark blue ribbons onto guns that I bought from the dollar store, haha!
Personal Thoughts:
This was the very first cosplay I did (and I actually have photographic evidence of!). I wanted to cosplay this Rinoa version for more than a year and I finally did it!

When I worked on this, I was in college with little sewing talent and it was all hand-sewn. I put a lot of heart and soul into making it for Nekocon in 2009 and I would do it all over again if I can :)
