About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Blitzball: The base is from a beach ball that I prime and painted.
Sandals: Brought on ebay. XDD
Wig: Commission by cosplayhouse.com
Headband: Decorative fabric that I just measure out, cut and added Velcro at the ends.
Necklace: I made from Scuply, molded and baked with a deerskin lace strap.
Shirt: Using my own pattern, I Measure my dimensions, cut up the yellow fabric and added the white bias tape. Then I drew the "X" design on some computer paper, pin the computer paper on some iron adhesive paper and grueling trace on all the designs, piece by piece, layer by layer (message me if you have any questions about this part). Then I sew on the lining, hammer in the jean rivets and finally made straps. The back is held by elastic.
Pants: Made from a modify pants pattern with extra seam allowance, lined and added straps with interface (to keep the straps stable). I use Tic Tacks and a 2 mm brown cord for the design of the pants and I reinforce the cord by hand sewing the ends of it.
Bracer: Sew a long pleather belt and cut the pieces evenly (as well as the green straps). Then I weave the pleather and green straps together and sew them together at the ends. I added eyelets at the end of the bracers.
Bracer 2: For the other bracer, I measure out the circumference of my wrist and longest circumference of my arm, then I measure out the length and then transfer the measurement to the brown fabric. Then I zigzag stitch the blue fabric on top and added the tic tacks and cord. I hand sew a separate armband (velcro piece) to the other armband and thats when I ran out of time... =P - Personal Thoughts:
- For my first Final Fantasy costume that I made I say that I'm quite please with the results. Due to time, I didn't completely finish the costume and probably won't since I'm distracted by other costumes.
