Construction Details:

I honestly struggled with this a lot. I had hoped to have it done for an earlier con but messed up on the jacket. so I ended up remaking that, and the pants too. it was my first time lining a jacket and making pants, so they're not the best, but I'm glad I tried my hand at it. the jacket and pants were made from poplin; not the best fabric choice, but it was CHEAP which was good because I had to use so much of it remaking both garments. the detail on the sleeves is made from trim I found at SAS and hand-stitched on. the boot covers I patterned myself and made from microsuede. the flag was made from poplin, and the appliques were patterned by me and made with poplin and satin. the ropes and tassels were made from an upholstery trim I found at SAS. the medal was made from a pendant I found at Michaels that I spray painted, then I used two types of ribbon sewn together and then sewn to a pin back to complete it. the gloves, buttons, and flagpole were the only things I didn't make.

Personal Thoughts:

even though I already spent so much time making this... and re-making it... it's such a gorgeous outfit that I really want to make it again someday when I'm better at tailoring.
