About this Costume
Construction Details:
Orange is my favorite color, so getting a good hue for the dress was more important to me than the fabric texture. I ended up using a hot, itchy bottom weight fabric I bought 1000 years ago. The red trim on the sleeves is a homemade piping/bias strips and the green design is heat-n-bond and appliqued on with matching bias around the bottom. Scratchy orange dress fits on top of a soft cotton white dress I made and ties together in the back with a detachable bow stuffed with craft foam for extra support. Most importantly, I have GIANT pockets on the sides of the dress!
The dresses were made from modified patterns, but I can proudly say that I drafted the jacket pattern almost entirely with a little trial and error. The applique is left over from the Rain costume I made years ago, I got to use pre-made bias tape from a package, and I already had elastic for the black cross-strings in the front. (See? Keeping things does come in handy sometimes!) Ballet tights were the only type of tights I could find in pink and the white boots were a miracle find I just folded over a couple of times to make "short."
Personal Thoughts:
Tales cosplay is addictive. If you make one, you're inevitably going to make another one eventually. I'm at the point where I actually love doing bias tape and applique.

As far as Farah is concerned, I've wanted to cosplay as her since before I even really started cosplaying. Usually when something falls that far behind on the backburner, it takes a pretty spectacular group to put it back in the priorities... and that's exactly what just happened! Issu and Lady Arieta had this planned and I just couldn't help myself.
