About this Costume
Personal Thoughts:
Yay Kurumu! She's my favorite out of the Rosario + Vampire girls :) Since my boyfriend wanted to crossplay Mizore, I wanted to do a pair with him, and I was originally going to go with Koko but then figured I might as well go with Kurumu since it looked easier. These two were a last minute cosplay; we had planned to do them but not as soon as we actually did. I based the costume off of the manga rather than the anime, since I like her design in the manga better, and I prefer it waaaay way more than the anime (I'm sorry if you like the anime more). That's why the bow around the neck is thinner and her socks are actually loose socks rather than those things she wears in the anime lol. The hairband is made from a hairband with purple broadcloth, purple ribbon, and purple pre-made frills, and I attached the star buttons on both ends. I was really excited so I made the whole hairband in like an hour and I like how it turned out! The hardest part of this costume was, believe or not, finding the sweater vest... -_- For some reason, I had a ton of trouble finding one at all on eBay and then finding one that wasn't brand-name and $50+ or for small boys lol. The one I got is kinda small and not as long as I'd liked, but I'll deal with it. Otherwise, I just used a white button-up shirt I used with Yuuki Cross/Azusa Nakano, Azusa's red bow, and my schoolgirl loafers. The loose socks I bought online and they're wonderful! <3 The wig is actually my boyfriend's Hayate Ayasaki (Hayate no Gotoku!) wig, which worked perfectly fine although I wanted a ponytail. Oh and the skirt is some plaid quilt fabric I found at Hobby Lobby. It's really thin and kinda crappy because it's not made for apparel, but it worked well enough; I thought the plaid was really close to the actual skirt design. Happily a lot of people have recognized the character so it's been fun! Next time I want to try to make her wings and tail and wear my elf ears and long nails to do the succubus form! :)
