Personal Thoughts:
My second cosplay from Gintama!! I had been planning to cosplay Katsura for a while but I never wanted to start on the kimono since I'd never attempted one and it looked really hard... But my mom and dad were nice enough to lend me my dad's yukata hand-made by my grandmother to scrutinize :D And for some reason I fit pretty well into his yukata sooo I just basically made a replica of it, with some modifications. I didn't get to work on it until not too long before the con so I kinda had to rush it which didn't help, but it ended up being easier than I thought it would be so I was able to finish about 95% of it by the con. I actually didn't finish by the con so I had to safety pin the collar part on the inside and didn't get around to making the haori T^T But I wore it anyway and had a lot of fun in it!!

The kimono is all made of royal blue kona cotton, and the white parts are left over twill I just added to the ends of the sleeves and inside of the collar to make it look like I have an under-kimono on. The obi is made from left over Haruhi hairband fabric (lol) which I believe is either kona cotton or classic cotton. So I was able to make it pretty cheap! :D The haori I made later on is made from classic cotton and is all hand-sewn, out of sheer boredness lolol. It's kinda too big at this point, so I'll probably have to fix it later, but I still have yet to wear the entire costume at a con. I plan to make a stuffed Elizabeth and a time bomb if I get a chance. I love Katsura!!!
