About this Costume
Construction Details:
Tunic: Dyed white twill. It's not quite the shade I was going for, but it turned out all right. Basically a long rectangle with a semicircle cut out for my head. I accidentally cut out too much so I had to put another layer underneath.

Shirt and jeans are from my closet.

Boot covers: Made with fleece and glued to a pair of flats I found in the clearance section of Joann so that I could put them over my rain boots. Version 1 was kept together with velcro, while version 2 used zippers, which worked much better but one of the boot covers still keeps falling down when I walk.

Pokeballs and belt: Painted styrofoam balls with Modgepodge and acrylic paint. For the belt, I hotglued some leather over a belt and made pouches for each of the balls. I meant to have room for 6 but realized too late that the balls I bought were too big... Originally, I let the Pokeballs just hang in the pouch, but after some mishaps of them falling out, I hotglued them to the belt.

Hat: Found it lying in a closet at home. Hotglued the purple and black feathers to them. I later hotglued an elastic strap to keep the hat from blowing away, which was an issue I had during the Cherry Blossom Festival.
Personal Thoughts:
Made this costume mainly because I had a lot of leftover white twill from Japan and was trying to brainstorm uses of it. Also, I love Pokemon Special, especially the Yellow arc. This was the first manga series I read, way back when Viz translated from left to right. I started with the middle of the Yellow arc and then read all four volumes of it. I remember feeling really sad when I reached the end of volume 7, not knowing that the adventure continues in the original Japanese manga. Anyways, Yellow has always been one of my favorite characters in this series, so this was a fun costume to work on.
Wig Details
Wig Brand
Arda Wigs
Wig Name
Derek
Original Color:
Yellow Blonde
Styling Notes
I trimmed the bangs (a little too much though) so they would stop getting in my eyes.
Wig Review
I attached a long ponytail to it, though I realized later that this is not the best base wig because there wasn't enough hair to make a small stub to attach the ponytail to.
