About this Costume
Construction Details:
I made this costume rather quickely to join a group that cosplayer Jukebox had suggested to me awhile back. She asked if I would be the Aerith/Aeris to her Tifa. We also had Straywind as Yuffie, Kyle Mistry as Zack and The Letter Jay as Cloud. When I wore this costume to Youmacon I actually tried to use my real hair. The fringe I had in the front was about an inch too short for my liking and I had to weave an extesnion in the back to add the length to the braid. Since then I have updated the costume, and have created a wig. I am using the wig Linda XL in 4/30 (from DW7 Diao Chan and Belle). The wig isn't quite that long so I had to weave an extension in the back to give it length. The jacket was made of some red twill I had laying around. I used some brown vinyl to make the arm straps. The dress is a light pink heavy cotton blend fabric I found on sale. I used a darker pink bias tape trim on the edges of the dress. The neck tie is a suede string I had already and turned out to be the perfect length. The wrist bangles are silver metallic fabric sewn into tubes with craft foam inside for structure. The boot covers were probably the most fun part of the construction. Made out of scraps of suede I had, built over a boot and craft batting stuffed into the end of the foot to create the poof.
I chose to do the Advent Children version due to better image references and the hair front wasn't so spiked up. I am looking into making the FF7 version at some point. Everything will be remade for that version.
Personal Thoughts:
I have only seen the movie once and really don't know all that much about the character. I did this as part of a group effort for cosplayer Jukebox who suggested I should be Aeris/Aerith.

Styling Notes
I used my Diao Chan DW7/Belle wig. I made a ponytail extension out of spare extensions I had that matched the wig. The wig was far too short to and needed length.
Wig Review
I love the way the wig looks, it is very heavy. I have 3 wig clips sewn inside, plus it's held on with bobby pins and sometimes eyelash glue at the forehead to keep it from popping up T_T
It is painful to wear for more then 2 hours at a time. I want to find a long bang clip to wear instead with a ponytail extension weaved into my hair for more comfort.
