EVERYDAY I'M RUFFLE'IN
Well I'll start from the top. The bodice is 4 pieces with a dart in the back to fit better. All those tiny white ruffles are hand-ruffled. Somehow I miraculously made it tight enough to where I can slip it on and off without a zipper. I somehow made my Chii costume do that too... And Angel Taiga.... anyway. Sleeves are puffy sleeves modified from the pattern I used for bakery Chii. Made the bodice pattern myself. for the petals, it's a circle skirt and there's 8 of them, but I think I want to take one out to make them less floppy. For all the pink fabric I choose Tafetta and used the non shiny side :D and the white is bridal satin. Also, I know I', missing the petals on the gloves, but I honestly just wanted to finish the main part, (and pulled an all nighter to do so!) The bias tape is sewn on the lazy way, and the corners I tried to miter a different way, than the "right" way, but that kinda worked. For the white skirt, it's a circle skirt gathered at the bottom with two petticoats underneath. I bought a long ribbon and hand ruffled it and put that on the bottom. It's loosely based on AnimeAngel/ RuffleButts Madoka skirt tutorial. I think next time I'll throw in one more petticoat to make it poof more, because it somehow doesn't show in pictures.... The socks are bought, and I just bought some ruffles to sew on the tops. Shoes are spray painted from good will, which looks decent... from a short distance... I still like how they look!
The wig is from Taobao.
Also I casted (one of lol) my groups's soul gems. and I used the very last bit of resin mix I had left. I mixed it correctly, added dye, then they cured for 24 hours. Then after a few hours of wearing my gem on my skin, it began to become "melty" IDK what I did wrong, but it's like my body heat made it bendy or something :U
Overall I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. This is by far the most complicated thing I've made in my 2 years of sewing. I feel like it bumped up my skills :D
Things I'm fixing:
Trim bangs a little more
Finish the gloves
Re-do bias tape
Take in Bodice
Line with Cupcake fabric :D
Find new shoes that fit better
- Personal Thoughts:
- I'm a cupcake 8D
