About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
It took me at least 60 hours to make this entire costume. The bodice, lapel, and hat took me the longest probably because of the blue sequins. I spent an entire week alone just making the hat because it was made entirely by hand-stitching. I also remade the entire skirt for Dragon*Con 2012 because my previous skirt had the wrong red satin.
- Personal Thoughts:
- As soon as I watched the movie Captain America: The First Avenger, I really wanted to make this costume because it was so cute and patriotic! Plus I always wanted to make a Marvel costume so this was my first! The Captain America Dancing Girls also put together a group for the Dragon*Con 2012 parade and Masquerade skit. We re-enacted the "war bonds" scene from the Captain America movie. We won "Best Patriotic" skit and had a lot of fun performing it. Thanks to Kathy and Caitlin for organizing the group and skit!
