About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I made all of the clothing: jacket, tank top, and pants.
Jacket: the jacket, no lie, took at least 40-50 hours of work. Between drafting the pattern, embroidering the designs, dyeing some of the fabric, and adding all of the various details-- it really added up! It doesn't look like it should take that much time, but it is deceptively intensive!!
Pants: the pants were made from scratch-- I used a pair of cargo pants as reference for how the pockets are detailed, etc. There's a ton of stitching, and 6 pockets, so that pants probably took something like 10 hours to make, lulzzzz. - Personal Thoughts:
- I got into Tiger & Bunny very suddenly a few months ago, after my friend showed me the first few episodes-- prior to that, I didn't know what it was about (thought it was shoujo). But I became instantly hooked and finished the series the week I started it. It's been a while since I fell in love with a series-- and a recent one at that! It's such a fun series-- amazingly engaging characters, intriguing storyline, and plenty of chuckles along the way. Throw in awesome hero-suits, and what's not to love??
I instantly fell in love with Ivan while watching his individual episode (#8). Well, that is the first time in the series you really get any insight to his character. I guess I can relate to him since I am often timid myself. Plus, I think his power is one of the more unique ones-- even if its not combat-ready ;)
