Construction Details:

Made in FOUR DAYS for the Sundae Best pony group at Dragon*Con. I used baby soft yellow fabric (which was both fuzzy and warm) and created a romper from scratch (no patterns used). I thought a romper would be a nice change from the normal dress design most ponies end up having, as well as reflect the '80s (the Sundae Best collection was released in 1985). The mane and tail are made from two wigs I bought off eBay and her cutie marks are made of a few pieces of felt that were painted, and have stitched detailing. The ears were bought from Yaya Han (yayahan.com). I wore purple contacts to match the purple eyes of Swirly Whirly and my shoes are from my Snow White costume. I also surprised our group with hand-stitched barrettes to match the ones that originally came with our ponies in the box!

Personal Thoughts:

The costume was so comfortable and our pony group got a lot of attention. I had a blast being a pony and even ended up in one of Chad Vader's videos on YouTube (the very first Dragon*Con 2011 one)!
