Construction Details:

I used a retractable baton as the base for the staff and painted it, and used a wire as the mesh for all the other parts, i.e. the heart, the triangle, and the wing pieces, which were made from Fun Foam. The tricky part -- holding it together while making it fit in the luggage. The answer? Clothespins! Somehow that made all the pieces stay on the staff (for the most part).

Personal Thoughts:

I had no idea if this thing was even going to hold together until I had made it! This was driving me nuts for a while, I was always vacillating as to whether I could make a Vanille staff that would even hold together or not, so I'm really proud that this turned out as well as it did!
