About this Costume
Construction Details:
Katherine is one of my proudest accomplishments to date. I styled the wig's bangs myself. I purchased a pair of half-rimmed reading glasses (which took WAY longer than you'd think--most half-rim glasses have plastic along the top, not the bottom), taped them, and sprayed them uniformly black. I shopped for belt and button supplies in NY, and miraculously found belt buckles just like her pendants in a trimming shop. I hand-plied the chain together onto each link to make my first legitimate belt! The top half of the shirt is a purchased half-tank top made of underarmour material, with sleeves and neck altered by me. I hand-patterned the "corset", which is made of pinstripe material that I had to hand-dye to be teal rather than white. I wore pants I already had, and bought black tights and pumps. I spray-painted a fork as a prop, hurr hurr.
Personal Thoughts:
Once in a while, a character scares the crap out of me for being too scarily like me. This is definitely the case with Katherine. Not only are we physically pretty similar, with hair color and glasses and all (and Irish last names), but I was a little appalled to find that a lot of Katherine's less likeable qualities are things I also dislike about myself. At the same time, that made her literally the most relatable character ever to me, even though she's way more of a nag than I ever could be. xD I THOROUGHLY enjoyed 'Catherine' upon playing the demo, and then getting the real thing (I got True Lover's ending, what up). I can't wait to eventually get a shoot with our lovely Catherine, Jenni! :3 This game had a lot of really jarring, albeit adorable, messages about love and commitment. BRB RUINING YO' ESCORT MISSIONS. LOVE IS OVER.
