Construction Details:

I went to Salvation Army and found perfect a Lily-looking shirt and purse, borrowed my friend's stylish boots, and finished with my red wig. Add my tall boyfriend and I was a very convincing looking Lily :)

Personal Thoughts:

In 2010 when I met and started dating my boyfriend he introduced me to the amazing television show "How I Met Your Mother" and we immediately bonded over marathoning it. Shortly before Halloween that year we saw the Halloween episode where Marshal and Lilly dress like a parrot and gay pirate. Naturally, I wanted to do something equally as awesome and decided since all our friends are just as obsessed with HIMYM as we are, I would make him a Marshmallow costume and myself a Lilypad costume (like an ACTUAL Marshmallow and Lilypad...I know, I'm a nerd). Of course, I ran out of time, so we settled for just making costumes based on the characters in everyday dress. Some day I am determined to follow through our original idea though!
