Construction Details:

Okay, so this was the easiest thing ever. I made myself a skirt out of black jersey knit. I did attempt to do the sort of Tim-Burton-esque zig-zag hem, but once worn on the floor, it would twist and crumple upon itself, soooo…next time I will try wire. The skirt comes all the way up under my bust (the shirt was purchased from What Pumpkin Studios) to make everything smooth. I bought a large quantity of fluorescent fuschia spandex from Spandex House (hurr hurr) and my sash is made up of two full lengths sewn together. That singular joint is hidden under the sash when it's tied around my waist, doubled-up. I then made myself some arm covers to keep from wearing two full layers in the Baltimore sun (which was particularly absurdly hot that weekend), and found Keds to match.

Personal Thoughts:

My gateway character into Homestuck. I have to thank Kusariku for hassling me into reading the comic, AND sort of guiding me in Rose's direction, because honestly I can't imagine life without having met the lovely Miss Lalonde.
