This was the very first costume I had ever sewn myself. I made the pattern for the top part completely from scratch. I was going to style a wig but it ended up getting ruined in the mail; which was for the best since it was a really crappy and cheap wig (my goal is to make a proper wig now that I have a bit more experience). In the end, I just ended up using my own hair and styled it into her loop using lots of elmer's glue and hair gel; a trick copied from watching my brother style his mowhawk. The Kanzashii were comissioned by an etsy artist named sakuradancer; her kanzashii are gorgeous! The costume itself is made out of pink and green cherry blossom tree patterned cotton fabric;I used a combination of hand-sewing and machine sewing to make it.The leaf top was made from felt sewn to a strapless bra. The obi was part of an old Halloween costume my mom and I had made . The earrings, obi-jime, and shide were all made by myself. I even had the peach-butt (you know what I'm talking about!) going on in the back; I just never bothered to have anybody take a picture back there.
