About this Costume
Construction Details:
Cardcaptor Sakura is one of my favroite animes, ever since i was little before i knew what anime was! And it will remain a favorite. ^^ I've wanted to cosplay as Sakura since i first started cosplaying!! I chose to do this outfit because it's cute, and i've only seen it done one other time. Whew lot's of firsts with this outfit @_@ The shirt is a modified Simplicity pattern. That was the most difficult part!! My sewing teacher helped me out ^^ The skirt is a modified...Burda pattern i believe..? with the triangles added on. The tie was bought at Goodwill and i sewed the bat wing on. The boot covers were made using Love Meeko's tutorial but modified slightly. They were my first ones ever! The gloves were bought at a vintage store. One of the buttons broke off T.T The horns were made by drawing a shape onto fabric and stuffing them and sewing them onto a headband (sad thing is...i did that in the hotel room..) The tail is done the same way but i had to handsew a few spots. The batwings i bought from Yaya Han's booth at Metrocon. I was happy she had them ^^ The wig is one we found last minute since i didn't know the long bob from the cosplay.com store would be that long!! My mom cut it in the hotel room, and i'll be styling it later. I tried to get the Star Wand done for the con but i procrastinated and couldn't, so i used my toy sealing wand that i had for a while. It worked just as well! I'm gonna try to get the star wand done for next time! ^^ I still have to add curlie-q's to the boot covers and collar, and style the wig, then it'll be 100% complete! ^_^
