Construction Details:

I LOVE GINTAMA!!!!! X3 Kagura was one of the reasons I wanted to read it to begin with and she’s one of my favorite characters of all time. I chose to go with this version of her Chinese dress (a simplified version of the dress she is wearing on the title page of chapter 4 of the manga) since it looked easier than making a long dress or pants XD I made the dress out of red and black twill fabric and yellow bias tape. I put snap buttons where the collar splits to the side and put an (not-so) invisible zipper down the whole left side. I couldn’t quite figure out an efficient way to do the China dress collar thing so I made like the most retarded thing ever…but hey, it worked! For the bunny picture on the back, I drew a pic of it onto some black sticky felt, stuck it on a white one cut out in a circle, and sewed the whole thing on. I had the most trouble with the bun covers, since the wig actually came with real buns, so I ended up making it out of left over black twill and yellow bias tape, and purple some craft rope (?). I’d like to remake it some day when I think of a better way to do it. Overall, I’m happy with the way it came out; it was comfortable and fun to wear! I’d love to wear it again!
