About this Costume
Construction Details:
Made of orange and white 2-way stretch vinyl. The top is a basic top without darts or any other shaping (though it hangs from my bust a bit), with a near-circular flared collar (that always wants to flop down...I need to reinforce it vertically!). The skirt is a basic flared skirt, with the white vinyl trim handstitched to the hem.

I've gone through a couple incarnations of the boots. First I bought some cheap gogo boots and spraypainted them, which worked, but they weren't enough of a platform or heel, and the paint flaked off after a few wears around the stress points. I then made some bootcovers for a pair of platform sandals I painted red, but the shape is a bit lacking, so I plan to fix that up, hopefully before I wear them again.

The symbol on the front of the top is stenciled on with acrylic paint.

The gun was actually a Buzz Lightyear squirt gun from the Dollar Tree that I glued a cone to and painted. I was lucky to find a gun with a near-perfect shape, especially since the gun I had made out of foam didn't work out.

Styling Notes
I want to have the fullness of her pigtails without the really fake look, so I end up wrapping my long pigtails around their bases to get that volume... but it doesn't work too well. =____=; I think I'm going to curl them to get the volume, and then maybe cut them shorter. Short, curly pigtails give a cuter look to Ulala, so I'm fine with that.

I went with a duller pink because I was afraid that a screen-accurate super bright pink or a very light pink would wash me out too much, given that I'm fairly pale.
Wig Review
It's not a super full wig fiber-wise, but the fibers are soft enough, the pigtails keep a really nice shape, and the curls at the ends are really cute.

I originally used a "milkshake pink" long ponytail clip wig from Cosplay-Wig on Ebay, but had to wrap the length of the pigtails around the clip, which was unsatisfactory. I'm glad I chose this one as a replacement, as both the color and style are more suitable to this costume.
