About this Costume
Construction Details:
I made the mask out of a white stocking and black marker ink. I was on borrowed time with the mask, and only had time for just a little customization. After I made my own (admittedly crude) design with this mask, we sewed the top of the crotch of the stockings ( I had to cut the legs off, or else I'd just look silly). The hat covered the stitches up, but even when it was off, nobody noticed or seemed to care. I know there are better ways to make a Rorschach mask, but this is the one I used. I found the coat in a 70's section of a local thrift store where I do alot of my costume shopping, and the pants at a family dollar ( they're women's pants, but they're elastic so they fit nicely. They were only 3 dollars, too.). I also found the dress shoes at a separate thrift store, and thank GOD I've swapped them out for better ones. They're really uncomfortable to walk in. They were about a size too small, but they were the only 'good' ones I could find at the time for a reasonable price. Luckily, I found better later. And the fedora was given to me by a pothead at my former high school after I traded the hat I was wearing at the time for his. XD These pics were taken at Adventurecon 2009 in Knoxville, TN, or at my house. The pictures were usually taken by anyone I could get to take the pictures, my friends, or me. I apologize for any blurriness. The costume was started after I read Watchmen, and finished just a little bit after the movie came out ( So, about a span of three months). There WERE Rorschach masks and costumes for sale in certain stores, but I didn't want to cheat. I like making my own costumes by hand.
