Construction Details:

This costume was a trail of love and hate. It was nice to do a character that I don't have a huge emotional attachment to. It lets me focus on the costume and allows me to take some liberties with the construction and design. The patterns were completely drafted by me. The whole outfit was constructed with Casa satin. And I regret it now. I should have used Taffeta or organic silks like I had wanted, it would have made it look richer. The jacket is fully lined and the two skirts will be very shortly. The shirt and corset were bought. The jabot belonged to my boyfriend's Great Grandmother. The Cameo, which is not part of her costume, was given to me by my sister for my birthday. I wanted to wear it anyways since it seems to fit the outfit. It depicts the Greek goddess Athena.
