About this Costume

This costume was mostly made by my girlfriend Janet. The pants and jacket were made out of the same material, the pants are serged and the jacket is fully lined. The collar features two layers of sturdy interfacing as well as an extra panel of thick stabilizer in order to both look stiff and to support the chain. The chain was modified by me, it was taken off a purse we purchased at Walmart, de-linked, and altered to fit onto the collar - I also placed the grommet into the collar. The belts were made by me from scratch using leather shoulder hide, each triangle was etched into the leather with tools and painted with Angelus paints. The shoulder strap is made from belly leather hide and snaps onto the shirt, with a painted resin gem accent that was cast by Janet. The shoes were purchased and painted an off-navy black color with Angelus paints. The shirt was made by Janet from scratch using a heavy-weight knit fabric and was serged together. The hat was made by Janet by completely altering a kiddie police hat - the fabric part was completely ripped off and replaced with the same fabric we used for the uniform, and was cut into to create the jagged edge - the hat is completely backless and it goes on with black elastic straps that blend into the wig. Thick craft foam was used to make the handstamp button. The wig was lightly styled and sprayed to hold the flared-back style with Got2Be hairspray.
