About this Costume
Construction Details:
Ah what can I say about this costume? other than it was made really fast? I made the bulk of the dress a while back, before I took on a large freelance job, and didn't get a chance to return to this costume until a week before Tekkoshocon VIII! I'm VERY happy with how it turned out in the end. I used a base pattern and modded it several times to get the overall look of the dress, and then set to appliqueing the ribbon and triforce and doing detail painting. the armor is all made of foamies. as a note: I shortened the arm guards because i have very short and delicate arms, and when I made them to scale, it made me look like I had huge casts on my arms. ><; I feel they look daintier as arm cuffs on my figure. If you want to stone me for making it less accurate, go right ahead. I also added some detail painting to the front piece because of a mishap with the "new" brand of fabric paint I purchased. (do not use folk art's new fabric paint EVER)it simply WOULD NOT cover any of my marking pencil lines, and made me CRAZY. there are approximately 6 layers of fabric paint, 3 layers of acrylic with a fabric medium, and 2 layers of plastic paint. the photoshoot is by the amazing Patches! I'm so glad we decided to have impromptu costume shoot day today in the beautiful weather!
