This costume was honestly so much fun to make. I was a ballet dancer for about 18 years and as soon as I saw this series I was in love. What better series then to combine my love for both dance and anime. This costume is actually made of three pieces the tutu itself with is made out of tulle and spandex. This was honestley the hardest part of the costume since princess tutu's skirting does not really lay in a traditional pancake tutu style nor is it a straight tulle tutu either. I ended up using about 17 layers of tulle in varying stiffness, not to mention my sewing machine looked like a pink poof ate it. The white skirting is actually just a simple circle skirt that I later trimmed in iridescent sequence to give it a little sparkle :) The top was made out of the same white bridal satin as the skirt and is boned and fully lined. The wings are on a wire that just hooks down through the skirting and the wings themselves are heat and bond together to keep them light and from fraying. ( the blue ribbons are attached to the wings themselves. The necklace actually took me the longest ( more so then anything else on this entire costume. It is hand made out of sculpy and plastic.
