About this Costume
Construction Details:
I was careful to chose the same materials that they used in the movie. The gown is dupioni silk faded/dyed by hand with floral spray & handwashed to soften it, & is trimmed with gold & white floral brocade. The blue undershirt is embroidered blue suede & the underskirt is golden crimped/crushed bridal satin.
The belt is the same Bethmooran belt I wore with my black & red Nuala costume. Constructed from strung golden beads, balsa wood, craft foa & mod podge.

I was also able to find a vintage blue copy of Alfred Tennyson's book "In Memoriam" to hide the crown piece that I constructed in.
Personal Thoughts:
Horrorfind 2009 had a handful of guests from the Hellboy movies. My friend Danny T & I decided to do Hellboy costumes for the occasion. I've always loved Nuala as a character, & I think her blue dress is gorgeous. I'm really pleased with how it came out.

In the future, I plan on sewing the cloak, hood & mask she wears in the troll market scene.
