Construction Details:

Henry and I decided to be Hawk and Reisz from the old SNES game Seiken Densetsu 3 to fit the "Old School Nintendo" theme for our Halloween party. We'd played the game cooperatively for a while, and always had fun. I loved to play Reisz. I really loved her hair fins and her big lance. The dress was draped and is made of a purple stretch cotton and zips up the back. The shoulder armor is a carvable pumpkin cut in half, covered in paperclay and hot glue, and painted. The edges are layers of foamies covered in spandex and square mirrors. The pieces just safety pin on to my dress so I can remove them easily. The gloves were made from the Vogue sewing pattern (pain in the ass) and were sewn by hand since the seam allowences were so damn tiny. The boots were made using Love Meeko's boot cover tutorial. The wig is an Ivy from Cosworx in the seafoam green with some hairspray styling to the bangs. The ears are made of spandex and cotton covered foamies and sewn into the wig. The lance blade is made out of foamcore, foamies and paperclay on a wooden dowel. I'm super happy with this costume overall, it's pretty fun to wear and I think the wig and ears are totally awesome XD
