About this Costume
Construction Details:
This was one of those crazy ideas I get a month before a Con, but in the end this is probably my favorite costume to date! It's just so fun being Nia!

All of the jewelry was made about a week before the Con thanks to procrastination by my husband. We used a giant roll of foam from JoAnns to craft the pieces. Then we used gold metallic spray paint for the color. All the jewels were made from Crayola Model Magic, painted with metallic paint, then sealed with a clear coat.

The dress was made from a modified pattern from Burda Style. It ended up basically being my own draft and looks nothing like what it was intended, but it worked perfectly for Nia!

I looked at over 10 shoe stores for red heels with no luck. They either were not in my size, or open toed. Apparently, that is the style now and there is no love for closed toe red shoes! So I had to just deal with modifying my Asuka shoes. These will be fixed as soon as I can find some new shoes.

Wig is from Cosplaywig on Ebay. It is such a lovely wig!

The flower is made from foam, and is attached to a clear headband for security. Worked out really well. Easy on, easy off.
