Construction Details:

The entire dress is handstitched. It took nearly a month to do (with work and other daily life tasks). It's not finished, as I still have to make a hat that fits and a cape that attaches to the collar... and finish the hem designs. I'll get around to finishing it sooner or later. ^_^;

Personal Thoughts:

This is my first costume that I constructed from scratch. I was in Japan at the time and had no access to a sewing machine. I wanted to make a costume to wear at AX'03 and couldn't decide what I wanted to do. After a few months of debating, I started buying sewing supplies and material and found a character who was close enough to my own looks to cosplay as. I'm pretty fond of the Atelier series and decided to make an Elie costume.
