Construction Details:

The black feathered wing was painstakingly created from a hand-made wire frame & nylon material. The Feathers were sewn on and reinforced with glue and more wire. The shoulder armor is made completely from steel-dyed leather and attached with black leather straps. The leather coat was found at a thrift store and modified. Under the coat is a silk bodice and a handmade black miniskirt, worn with charcoal tinted nylons and tall black leather boots. The wig is somewhat styled and I used my real bangs and hair in front, spraying them to match the wig with washable white and silver colored hairspray. Gloves are real leather. The katana is made of oak, cut and sanded smooth, hot waxed to darken in color. Its handle is tied in the traditional style with black para-cord and finished of in a turk's head knot. The sword was scaled down to a length that is mathematically scaled to my height so it would no be too disproportionately long for me to handle. All in all, this costume took me about a month to gather all the materials and parts and put everything together. Kudos to my husband Chris who helped me create the sword and shoulder armor. I wouldn't have been able to complete this project without him!
