Construction Details:

Back in 2006 Scoti and I had come up with this rather ridiculous Ragnarok Online skit idea that we wanted to take to a masquerade. The key character/job class we needed was a Bard, and the Bard had to have a lute (okay, maybe not, but I just like the word "lute" and it's such a funny looking instrument! XD). Ochika agreed to be our Bard, and I set about the task of making her lute as the final project of my props class. The only reason why the lute doesn't match the one in the official art was because the requirements for making it for school (and getting marks for it) was that it had to be based off of something in a museum, and the Royal Ontario Museum only had a weird little lute with two ends. So mine does too. ^_^

Personal Thoughts:

This prop was exceptionally difficult for me at first because I'm afraid of power tools ... and there was enough wood work to make the task rather daunting. Many many thanks to Chris Warrilow for walking me through the process and making the belt sander not so scary anymore. ^_^
