Construction Details:

This dress was made with the help of two friends, Namara and Appycatt!
The bodice pattern was drafted by Appycatt using seran wrap and fabric.
Skirt mock ups were done by Namara as well as the assembly of the first two skirt layers!
I drafted the pattern for the peplum and the sleeves. I wrapped up the assembly of the bodice and the skirts, which are held together by a waistband I made which snaps closed on my waist!

Extensive lengths were taken research wise to make this dress as close to the source material as possible!

Personal Thoughts:

The 1997 Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella is a beloved classic to my heart. As a young girl, I would stand by the TV screen and pretend to transform into a beautiful ball gown just like how Brandy did in the movie. This movie was a soft reminder that girls like me can be in fantasy and can be princesses. This dress' completion was dedicated in memory to my grandmother who passed.
