Construction Details:

The skirt is a pleated school skirt made from a red and black plaid flannel. It's super soft and comfy. I used a McCall's pattern for it.
The dress shirt is made from a white cotton. I traced a dress shirt I already had. The sleeves are poofy at the top and fitted further down.
The tie is made from a green cotton and I sewed white bias tape stripes onto the tie and lined in in green cotton as well.
The vest is made from a yellow fabric that looks like it was knitted. It was a remnant from Walmart so I honestly don't know what it was called. I draped the pattern on my dressform and sewed it together with a zig zag stitch.
The black coat was made from a black twill and draped on my dressform. The buttons on the front are more decorative than they are in the anime. The cuffs are made of white cotton and the buttons acutally function.
The gloves were made from white spandex and I just traced my hand. The little lines along the knuckle bones were satin stitched on.
I bought a pair of mid-calf moto boots off Poshmark. I cut off all the straps and painted the soles white with Plaid FX paint. The straps were made with white pleather from Joann.
The scythe was so hard....
I patterned it by laying paper on the floor next to a PVC Pipe. I then constructed the blade from 3 mm EVA Foam with some aluminum rods for support. I fixed it to the PVC pipe with Cosplayflex Thermoplastic. Then I built the rest of the details around it with more foam. Then the scythe was primed with PVA glue and painted with Plaid FX paint by hand because it was December and I couldn't go outside to spray it

That scythe is so hard to carry and it broke at the con but I love Soul Eater and Maka and her character design is so cool. Gotta love short skirts with long capes in the back
