About this Costume
Construction Details:
Dress: I bought a dark tan jersey knit and off-white accordion chiffon to attempt to make the entire dress a little more on the ivory/tan side like the render, but weirdly enough the chiffon insisted on being extra opaque, so maybe one day I will dunk the whole thing in a tea bath. I hand-patterned the top first, sandwiching rope trim in the neckline between the chiffon and lining, and serged/hemmed the sleeves. Then I created an elastic waistband skirt with the same materials and serged the two together after trying them on to find the optimal way for the top to still 'blouse out' over the waistband.

Rope belts and sash: At first I was planning to attach 'cap sleeves' per the render, but I decided to make it a drape across the back instead. Patterning where the ropes fell was an interesting experience since I didn't want them to pinch the drape across the back, but to still fall in the places where they appear in the sprite, so I basically have to wiggle my way in from the bottom and stick my hands through the right rope loops and pray lol. The rope was cotton braiding that I had to hand-paint with gold and carefully hand-turn my machine to pinch into fabric areas, attach to the costume, or connect with itself. The green shawl is 1 yard of chiffon, cut into strips, and serged on the edge.

Wig: see details below
Personal Thoughts:

Styling Notes
Purchased a curly clip, straightened it, harvested it from the clip and sewed it into the back-left side of the Jareth. Teased entire wig to hell and back and brushed it out, then spiked and feathered.
