The leotard is made using kwik sew's skating dress pattern, four way stretch nude lycra, and four way stretch black velvet. I used stretch heat n bond and used stretch applique techniques to create the cutouts. I used wash away wonder tape to apply the invisible zipper to the four way stretch fabric without any buckling. I used holographic fabric for the bottom of the leotard. The black stripes are black glitter elastic. The gloves are attached and feature invisible zippers to allow me to use my hands. The bustle is black satin and lined with galaxy cotton. I used the same iridescent black taffeta from my first version, as well as black and star print black organza to create the tiered ruffles. I roll edged all of the ruffles and stitched them on in the middle so there were no raw edges. I reused my wig, hair bow, shoes, and thigh highs. However I did have to take in my thigh highs and shorten them.
The wings were created using The Crooked Feather's Patreon tutorials. I used caulk to glue two pieces of broadcloth to 12 and 9 gauge wire. I used a drill press to machine holes in the aluminum frame and each feather is bolted to the frame. The feathers are strung so they move properly. The cover is made from felt and feathers. The bones onthe covers are Yaya Han/Cosplay Fabrics EVA foam dowels. I used a Dremel to make the edges angled and they're stitched into the covers. The back brace was purchased from Crooked Feather as her design is proprietary. - Personal Thoughts:
- Take two! Much more satisfied with this version.
