About this Costume

The body of the costume was made using Jessie Pridemore's bunny suit pattern. The sleeves were slashed and expanded from the Simplicity 2015 Cinderella Fairy Godmother pattern, and the shorts were drafted with math and went through four iterations before I was happy with their shape. Each green stripe has gold metallic decorative embroidered stitching. The sleeves attach to black stretch velvet for the bottom of the sleeves. The top of the body has handmade and applied custom bias tape. The costume closes with an invisible zipper. The choker is made to match the sleeves and shorts. The sew on gem is from Allstarco.com. The leaves around the hips were embroidered onto a poly shantung with my Viking Designer Diamond. I cut them out and burned all the edges before encasing them in the seam. I added olivine swarovski for a little shine.
The wings are laser cut aluminum with black matte powder coat. Karmada designed the file for the wings and adapted a back brace design I sent to her. It was our first time making files for metal machining. We sent the files to a machine shop in New Jersey to have them cut since my local maker space was shut down. After I received the wings I used spray adhesive to attach Fantasy Film in Waterfall and then laminated the wings with iron-on matte lamination vinyl from Heat N Bond.
The head band includes hand stitched sequin trim on stretch lace to match the wig. The flowers are glitter craft foam, heat formed to shape the petals. The centers are large acrylic gems from Allstarco. The large leaves were harvested from different silk flowers and covered in Fern and Emerald swarovski. They clip onto the headband and wig.
The shoes are wedge heels I covered with Yaya Han Cosplay Fabrics Holographic Silver lycra from Joann.

- Styling Notes
- After many trials and errors in styling I finally settled on braids that I liked. I decided to go with fishtail braids to give it an Elven look like Legolas from LOTR.
