Personal Thoughts:

I had caught the last few episodes of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann on the SyFy channel way back in 2009. Several years later, I began re-watching the series on Crunchyroll. I fell in love with Nia the moment she first appeared, thanks to her kind, bubbly, and optimistic view of the world. (Plus, her outfits were so cute!) About a month after I had finished the series, I had been deciding on what costumes to bring/make for Hamacon. I was currently finishing up another costume, and thought "Hey! Gurren Lagann turns 10 this year! Why not make Nia?" All in all, this costume was a fun learning experience for me and helped me develop more as a prop/accessory maker as well as proved to myself that I could finish a costume from start to finish in under 2 months (this is why you pick characters you love!)
