Construction Details:

I used a pants pattern and modified it for shorts, then patterned the top and straps of the jumper. The shoes were a lucky find, which I painted with acrylic paint. The paint was sparkly, because of course. The only real challenge was the wig.

Personal Thoughts:

As soon as I saw her show up in the debut trailer for the Trial Captains, I knew I needed to cosplay Mallow. I got right to work and finished the costume in time to wear it to Otakon 2016, where all of one person recognized me and I was constantly mistaken for a gijinka Shaymin. Good times.

Styling Notes

I pulled the wig into the two low ponytails, and trimmed them down to give them the "curled up" look, which the wig just did without any styling necessary. The bang swoop was surprisingly easy to style as well. For the headpiece, I bought a fake ivy garland and cut all the leaves off, and made the flower out of felt.

Wig Review

Epic wigs are always great, but this one is really comfortable to wear and it was so much easier to style than I thought it was going to be. 10/10.
