Construction Details:

The arms and legs are tights, and I used the classic Homestuck method to make the armsocks for the arms and hands. The wig is actually tied at the bottom and brought back up under the cap to allow for the "round" bottom of Ruby's hair that I was having a hard time achieving otherwise. The suit is a stretch material base, with a stiffer lighter red fabric sewn into the waist. I wanted to create a more dynamic movement for the outfit than just sewing a paneled top. The shoes are shoe covers over a pair of old flats and have interfacing to keep them shaped.

Personal Thoughts:

This costume was an incredibly fun one to make and another costume that goes along with my cosplay partner! I met Rebecca Sugar by chance in a hall at NYCC 2015 in this costume so it has some great memories.
