Construction Details:

Back in January of 2012 I thought it would be a really good idea to make Celty's helmet in a week. And I did it!... but with terrible results. I had taken a basic helmet and scored the top of it so that I could just plop a bunch of paper clay on top and call it a day. Once that was "dry" I slapped a bunch of bondo on top, sanded a lot, taped it up painted it, and when I went to take the tape off I also pealed off some bondo from the paper clay. Yeah, really dumb on my part. I still wore it and got a few shots from the front so as not to so the horrible error.

nA year later I took it out and slowly began the painful process of repairing everything. The paper clay had fully dried, and shrank, pulling itself off the helmet slightly. A lot more bondo and sanding and I remade it better, stronger, and with new air vents after I sealed the forehead vent.

So nice I made it twice!
