About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I patterned the tentacles by drawing out the shape I wanted and sewing together two vinyl pieces (one pink, one white). I stuffed them with some batting and attached them to my wig. The hat is some trucker hat I found on ebay or Amazon, and I used a fabric pen to draw on the logo. The shirt is just a normal cotton t-shirt with lettering (stylized いか), and I painted pink stripes on some gym shorts. I happened to buy some cute athletic sneakers recently, and they fit with the rest of the costume nicely. My Splattershot is modified from an old Supersoaker. I painted the whole thing as well as the water tank, jammed all the moving parts, and used craft foam for the nozzle. I went over everything with a triple thick gloss to give it that wet, shiny look that everything in Splatoon has.
- Personal Thoughts:
- you're a kid you're a squid you're a kid you're a squid

- Styling Notes
- I used a Lulu as my base. I sewed in a pack of matching short wefts to the back, teased the wig fibers, and formed them into four little tentacles in the back with got2b glue hair product. I did a blunt cut for the short bangs, and I cut quite a bit off of the sides so that it blends in with the tentacles.
